Boxy Terms of Service

The rules for using Boxy accounts, worlds, community features, purchases,
and creator tools.

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of Boxy,
including its websites, game clients, game worlds, accounts, chat,
purchases, creator tools, and support services (together, the "Service"). In
these Terms, "Boxy," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operators of the
Service.

1. Acceptance of these Terms
----------------------------

By creating an account, accessing, downloading, or playing Boxy, or
otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our related
policies, including the Community Guidelines (/support/community-guidelines)
and Privacy Policy (/support/privacy). If you do not agree, do not use the
Service.

If you are not legally able to agree to these Terms yourself, a parent or
legal guardian must review and accept them for you and is responsible for
your use of the Service.

2. Access to Boxy
-----------------

Access to Boxy is a privilege, not a right. To the fullest extent permitted
by law, we may deny, limit, suspend, or terminate any person's access to all
or part of the Service, with or without prior notice, for any lawful reason.
This includes protecting players, enforcing these Terms, responding to legal
or security concerns, preventing harm to the Service, or discontinuing a
feature or world.

Individual worlds may publish additional rules. Those rules may be stricter
than these Terms, but they cannot replace them. You are responsible for
reviewing a world's rules before participating.

3. Accounts and account security
--------------------------------

  - Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
  - Keep your password, login tokens, and other credentials confidential. Do
    not share, lend, transfer, or allow another person to use your account.
  - You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless
    applicable law provides otherwise. Notify support promptly if you
    believe the account has been compromised.
  - Do not create or use an account to impersonate another person, evade a
    restriction, or help someone else violate these Terms.
  - Account and player names must not be obscene, sexually explicit,
    hateful, harassing, deceptive, or otherwise inappropriate. We may rename
    or remove them.

We may delete accounts and associated data after an extended period of
inactivity. We do not promise to retain inactive accounts, worlds,
characters, builds, or items indefinitely. Where reasonably practicable, we
will provide notice before an inactivity deletion.

4. Community conduct
--------------------

Do not be a jerk. Treat other players and the people who operate and support
Boxy with respect. Trolling, griefing, deliberately disrupting play, or
repeatedly provoking others is not acceptable, even if a specific act is not
listed below.

You must not use the Service to:

  - harass, stalk, bully, threaten, shame, or abuse another person;
  - promote or participate in hate speech or target people based on
    protected or personal characteristics;
  - discuss sexual themes, engage in sexual conduct, solicit sexual contact,
    or share sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate
    content;
  - use excessive profanity, spam, scams, malicious links, or content
    intended to shock or seriously offend;
  - impersonate players, staff, moderators, or other people, or misrepresent
    an affiliation with Boxy; or
  - encourage, assist, or coordinate violations of these Terms.

Keep public and shared spaces clean and suitable for the community. Context
matters, and we may act on conduct that creates an unsafe, hostile, or
seriously disruptive environment.

5. Cheating, exploits, bots, and interference
---------------------------------------------

Do not cheat or attempt to gain an unfair gameplay advantage. Prohibited
conduct includes:

  - using, distributing, advertising, or developing cheats, unauthorized
    mods, injected code, packet manipulation, or tools that alter gameplay
    or evade game rules;
  - knowingly exploiting a bug, vulnerability, unintended game mechanic,
    duplication method, or economy error for personal or group benefit;
  - discovering a material exploit and using it, sharing it with other
    players, or withholding it so it can continue to be abused instead of
    reporting it privately through the bug-reporting process
    (/support/bug-reporting);
  - using bots, scripts, macros, or other automation that plays the game,
    makes gameplay decisions, repeats gameplay actions, or provides an
    advantage beyond ordinary convenience; or
  - attacking, probing, overloading, bypassing access controls, reverse
    engineering except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right
    to do so, or otherwise interfering with the Service or another player's
    connection.

Ordinary accessibility features, input remapping, and convenience tools are
allowed only when they do not automate play or create a gameplay advantage.
If you are unsure whether a tool is permitted, ask support before using it.

Cheating may result in immediate suspension or permanent account deletion,
including removal of characters, builds, currency, and items, without prior
warning.

6. Player content
-----------------

"Player Content" means anything you submit, upload, create, publish, or
communicate through the Service, including chat, names, builds, worlds,
schematics, text, images, models, and feedback. You retain any ownership
rights you have in your Player Content.

By submitting Player Content, you grant Boxy a worldwide, non-exclusive,
royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store,
reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use
that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and
promote the Service. This license continues for as long as the content
remains on the Service and, where necessary, afterward for backups, shared
creations, legal compliance, and material already used to promote the
Service.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit your Player Content
and grant this license. Do not submit content that infringes another
person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights. We may
review, restrict, modify, or remove Player Content at our discretion, but we
are not obligated to monitor everything players create or say.

7. Accounts, virtual items, and real-money trading
--------------------------------------------------

Your account is personal to you and remains part of the Service. Virtual
currency, characters, land, builds, and in-game items are licensed features
with no guaranteed real-world value or permanent availability; they are not
property that can be redeemed for cash unless we expressly say otherwise.

You may not buy, sell, rent, trade, or transfer an account, access to an
account, virtual currency, or an in-game item for real-world money or
anything of value outside an exchange expressly authorized by Boxy. We may
reverse unauthorized transactions and remove related accounts or items.

8. Purchases, contributions, and subscriptions
----------------------------------------------

Prices, taxes, billing periods, renewal terms, and included benefits are
shown at purchase. Subscriptions continue for the disclosed period and may
renew until canceled. Canceling stops future renewals but does not normally
refund the current billing period.

Monetary contributions or "donations," subscriptions, virtual currency
purchases, and other transactions for in-game services are final and
non-refundable once completed, except where a refund is required by
applicable law, required by the payment platform, or expressly allowed by
our Refund Policy (/support/refund-policy). Virtual items or benefits
connected to a refund, reversal, or chargeback may be removed.

You are responsible for charges from third parties outside Boxy, including
internet, mobile data, hardware, banking, currency-conversion, marketplace,
and payment-provider fees. Boxy does not control and is not responsible for
those charges. Review the third party's terms before completing a
transaction.

9. Enforcement
--------------

We may investigate suspected violations using reports, account records,
gameplay data, chat, transaction history, and other information available to
us. Depending on the conduct, we may warn a player, remove content or items,
reverse gains, mute or restrict features, suspend access, ban a player or
device, or permanently delete an account and its associated data.

We may act immediately when we believe cheating, fraud, harassment, security
risks, illegal conduct, or harm to players or the Service is involved. We
may also take action based on conduct outside the Service when it creates a
credible risk to Boxy, its players, or its staff. Attempts to evade
enforcement may lead to additional restrictions.

Where an appeal is available, you may use the appeal process
(/support/appeals). Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that an action
will be reversed.

10. Service changes and availability
------------------------------------

Boxy is an evolving service. We may add, change, reset, rebalance, suspend,
or discontinue worlds, features, rules, virtual items, or the Service
itself. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available,
uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that game data will never be lost.
Preview, testing, and community-hosted worlds may change or reset without
notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and
"as available," without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these Terms
excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be
excluded.

11. Responsibility for losses
-----------------------------

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boxy is not responsible for
indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising
from use of or inability to use the Service, loss of game data or virtual
items, player conduct, third-party services, or unauthorized account access.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or
excluded.

12. Changes to these Terms
--------------------------

We may update these Terms as Boxy, its rules, or applicable requirements
change. The date above shows when they were last updated. If a change is
material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or another
appropriate method. Continuing to use Boxy after the updated Terms take
effect means you accept them; if you do not accept them, you must stop using
the Service.

13. General terms and contact
-----------------------------

If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining terms will
continue to apply. A delay or failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of
our right to enforce it later. These Terms do not give rights to anyone
other than you and Boxy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
